Royal Caribbean's Splendour of the Seas Sold to TUI for Thomson Cruises
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has entered into an agreement to sell Splendour of the Seas to TUI Cruises in the second quarter of 2016. The ship will then be leased to Thomson Cruises.

Splendour of the Seas was built in France at Chantiers de I'Atlantique (now STX France) and her maiden voyage was March 31, 1996. The ship is currently based in Brazil and has a capacity of 2,076 passengers and 720 crew.


The Company stated the following on their press release:


"Her final sailing will commence on April 4, 2016 and all officers and crew will remain with the Company and will be transferred to other vessels worldwide after the ship leaves Rpyal Caribbean International fleet."
