If you are a Filipino seafarer working on a ship covered by an AMOSUP agreement then you are entitled to a range of benefits, including healthcare for you and your family.
As soon as you join a ship covered by an AMOSUP collective bargaining agreement (CBA), you are automatically a member.
Here is a guide to the benefits available to you: AMOSUP membership handbook
You are still a member when you sign off the ship and, for six months after disembarkation, you and your dependents can continue using AMOSUP hospitals.

Most non-Filipino seafarers working on ships covered by a CBA will receive a Social Programme Compensation (SPC) as they don't have access to AMOSUP benefits and the other welfare provisions provided by the Filipino government. This is a payment that is designed to be used to cover healthcare and other welfare systems in countries where this is not provided.
Ask your onboard HR for details of your CBA or send us an email: mail@nsu.org
